Jason Wahler's legal life is beachy keen once more.

The Hills and former Laguna Beach cad has settled a second assault, battery and civil rights-violating lawsuit stemming from his August 2007 bustup with a Los Angeles tow truck driver.

On Friday, Jonathan Wallace, a Department of Transportation worker who also claimed to be victimized by the reality star in the incident, filed papers in Los Angeles Superior Court stating that his case against Wahler had been settled out of court.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed, though the resolution now voids the scheduled Nov. 26 start date for the case.

Jason Wahler is a loser yet again.

A day after ordering the MTV bad boy to pay $5,000 in compensatory damages for assaulting a tow-truck driver, a Los Angeles jury just hit Wahler with an additional $15,000 in punitive damages.

The panel, which deliberated for less than an hour this morning, decided to tack on the extra damages against the 21-year-old Hills star for attacking 41-year-old Dario Stevenson during a 2006 roadside encounter.

The award was far less than the $1 million Stevenson's lawyer originally requested, prompting Wahler to spin the decision. "We won," he told reporters afterward.

Asked whether he thought the judgment would affect his future employment, Wahler, who claims to have a couple deals in the works, responded, "I don't think so. This all happened two years ago."

Jason Wahler just got a dose of reality—and not of the MTV variety.

A Los Angeles jury today ordered the former Laguna Beach and sometime Hills day player to shell out some cash for rough up a tow-truck driver.

Wahler has been ordered to pay driver Dario Stevenson $5,000 for a September 2006 altercation during which the Beach bum allegedly punched Stevenson in the face, hurled racial slurs in his direction, and generally made a lawbreaking nuisance of himself.

Not that the payout signals any sort of end to the fallout Wahler may face.

Jason Wahler better hope reality doesn't bite.

A civil trial kicked off today in Los Angeles in the case of a tow-truck driver, Dario Stevenson, who claims he was assaulted by The Hills hothead while trying to impound a car.

But before opening statements could commence, Wahler's legal team filed a motion seeking to keep lawyers from yakking on the case to the press. The lawyers stopped short at requesting a gag order—attorneys will be able to discuss procedural issues, for instance.

Wahler's camp has been on a campaign to keep the case on the QT.

The Hills aren't alive with the sound of camera crews, thanks to Audrina Patridge's neighbors.

Patridge, like her former BFF Lauren Conrad, is already a target of ire in her community, forcing limits on MTV's filming activity around her new Hollywood Dell digs.

Todd Lindgren, spokesman for FilmL.A., tells E! News that a temporary permit with notable restrictions was given to MTV’s production crew.

"A lot of the neighbors thought there were going to be trucks up there, and there is none of that,” says Lindgren. “There won’t be any cast or crew vehicles up there or equipment.”
